The Step-by-Step Process of Skrill Account Verification

Verifying your account is easy and uncomplicated. You just need to provide some additional information about yourself. Before we start, make sure to have the following documents ready to expedite your verification process:

  1. Proof of address (a stamped bank document, court statement, state clearance, or utility bill with your name and address clearly visible).
  2. ID document

Occasionally, if your computer’s geographical location can be determined and verified, it might be sufficient to confirm your address. However, in most instances, Skrill will request your documents to confirm your address. It’s important to note that the address document should not be older than 90 days.

1. ID verification

This is the stage where you provide extra details about your identity. The step-by-step process for verifying your ID using a webcam is outlined below:

Step 1: Sign in

Upon logging into the desktop site, you can access the verification page by selecting the “Settings” tab from the account details dropdown menu.

On the “Settings” page, locate the “Verification” tab and click on “Verify now.” Clicking the button will instantly redirect you to the verification form.

Step 2: Deposit

Once you click on verification, you’ll be asked to deposit funds into your account if you haven’t done so already.

Step 3: Facebook

In this step, you have the option to verify using your Facebook account. This action is entirely voluntary. Click the “No Thanks” button located right under the prominent Facebook icon on the page.

Step 4: Uploading ID photos

By choosing “No Thanks,” you’ll be directed to another page with two options. The first choice is to download the Skrill App and verify through it. The other option, which is more convenient and quicker, involves uploading several photos of your ID documents, some of which can be captured using your webcam.

Upon selecting the second option, you need to choose your country and the type of identification document.

Once you’ve made your selection, you’ll move on to the next verification phase where you need to decide how to capture your ID. On this page, you’ll encounter two options: capture a picture directly with your webcam or upload an image from your files. Choose the second one, upload your ID photo to the system, and complete the first step of ID verification.

Ensure that your browser has permission to access your webcam; you’ll need it for the second step of ID verification, which involves an online selfie. Simply follow the on-screen prompts to complete this step.

Once you’ve uploaded your photos, a rotating icon will appear on the page, indicating that your upload is in the “processing” stage. It’s important not to interrupt this process. At the end, the page should appear as follows.

Upon reaching this stage, your ID verification process is complete, and you can proceed to the next step!

2. Address Verification

Once your computer has successfully uploaded your pictures during the ID verification phase, your webpage will automatically progress to the next step, which is the Address verification. At this point, a notification will appear on your screen tab, requesting permission to access your location. On the main page, you will also have two options to choose from.

If the computer fails to access the method, you should consider option 2, which requires you to upload a location document. Here’s what you can expect to see when you click on option 2.

Step 1: Selecting your location Document

When you locate the image shown above on your computer, you should choose the document type. It’s important to note that you need to have an address document before selecting option 2.

Step 2. Upload the document and Submit

Once you’ve chosen your location document, click on the “upload” button and submit it. If you face issues at this stage, you can revert to the first option, allowing your computer to automatically read your address.

If your upload is successful, you will be promptly directed to the next page, confirming your address upload.

This marks the final phase, where your verification is confirmed by the computer. You will be guided to the final page, where you’ll receive a summary of your verification steps. Typically, you’ll find that your verification is now complete, and you can proceed to your dashboard. Almost immediately, you will also receive an email from Skrill in your registered email, confirming your successful account verification.
